Privacy Policy
RedditViewer is a static video player for public YouTube videos surfaced from Reddit communities. It does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or give RedditViewer access to your Google, YouTube, or Reddit account.
Information RedditViewer Stores
RedditViewer stores a small amount of playback state in your browser so the app feels continuous between visits. This data stays in your browser storage unless you clear it.
- Watched YouTube video IDs and recently skipped unplayable video IDs.
- Playback progress for videos you have started watching.
- Your selected subreddit, sort mode, and politics filter setting.
- A temporary phone-remote session token in session storage when you use the QR remote feature.
Information RedditViewer Does Not Collect
RedditViewer does not run its own analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels, or account system. It does not collect your name, email address, Google credentials, YouTube credentials, Reddit credentials, or payment information.
As with most websites, the static site host may receive ordinary request metadata such as your IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, and request time when your browser loads RedditViewer files.
YouTube And Google Services
RedditViewer uses YouTube services to show video thumbnails, load the YouTube IFrame Player API, and play embedded videos from YouTube. When these YouTube features load or play, your browser connects to YouTube and Google domains, including YouTube thumbnail and embedded-player services.
Google's privacy policy applies to YouTube. Please review the Google Privacy Policy, which explains how Google handles data for services including YouTube. Your use of YouTube features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
Phone Remote
The phone remote uses a QR code containing a temporary session token. Devices that have the token can connect to the player, receive current playback state, and send playback commands.
To make the remote connection, RedditViewer uses browser WebRTC and public signaling or relay services. Those services may process connection metadata needed to establish the connection. Do not share the QR code with anyone you do not want controlling the player.
Clearing Your Data
Use the Settings menu in RedditViewer and choose Clear History to remove RedditViewer's locally stored watch history, saved playback progress, and skipped-video records from your browser.
Clearing RedditViewer's local data does not delete data held by YouTube, Google, Reddit, or your browser. To manage YouTube or Google data, use Google's privacy controls and YouTube settings.
Changes
This policy may be updated when RedditViewer's behavior changes.
